American Robin Reproduction

The American robin is monogamous. This bird can produce three successful broods in a year. Robins mate in the spring from April to July. The nest is built by the female alone. It is made of mud, grass, twigs, and feathers. A clutch consists of 3-5 light blue eggs. The incubation period lasts 2 weeks. Unfortunately, up to 80 percent of the young are dying each year.
