Ant Information

Ants are social insects, belonging to the family Formicidae. Most ant species live in the soil. They are found on all continents except Antarctica, Iceland, Greenland and parts of Polynesia. Ants have three body regions: head, thorax and abdomen. They have six legs and two compound eyes. Ants also have a pair of antenae and strong jaws. These insects use their antenae for touch, smell and taste. There are over 10,000 known species of ants in the world. Unfortunately ants are among the most prevalent pests in households.
