Ant Behavior

Ants are social and live in colonies. Ants have three castes: queens, males and workers. Each of the colonies has one or more queens. The queen lays the eggs. Male ants mate with the queen. After mating, male ants will die. Worker ants are wingless, sterile females. Worker ants look for food, protect the eggs and defend the nest. Ants are omnivorous. They eat fruit, seeds and insects. Adult ants don't actually chew the food. They suck the juice from it.
