Bluebird Information

Bluebirds are medium-sized North American birds in the genus Sialia of the thrush family Turdidae. Bluebirds prefer habitats like open fields, prairies, and meadows. There are three bluebird species: the Eastern bluebird (Sialia sialis), the Western bluebird (Sialia mexicana) and the Mountain bluebird (Sialia currucoides). Mountain bluebirds have a blue body. Eastern bluebird adults have a white belly, while Western bluebirds have a grey belly. Bluebirds are also classified as songbirds. These beautiful little birds make wonderful sounds.
