Bluebird Reproduction

Bluebirds mate the year after they hatch, usually in spring and summer. A female will typically raise two broods each season. Nest-building takes 4-6 days. The female lays 4-6 bluish white eggs and the incubation period is around 2 weeks. Both parents will bring food to feed their young. Young bluebirds are able to leave the nest after 16 to 21 days from hatching.
