The bobcat is a solitary and territorial animal. Each bobcat may have several dens in its territory. The bobcat is a nocturnal animal. During the day, it prefers to rest. It is also an opportunistic feeder. The bobcat is strictly carnivorous and eats small mammals, birds and reptiles. It hunts by stalking its prey and then ambushing it.
