Coyote Information

Coyotes (Canis latrans) are a member of the dog family. They are found in all parts of the USA, Mexico, Central America and most of Canada. Its Latin name, Canis latrans, means "barking dog."

Coyotes are between the size of a fox and a wolf. They have large triangular ears, long narrow muzzle and thick, bushy tail. Coyotes can be yellowish brown to tawny grey in colour.

The coyote is extremely adaptable and intelligent, and is best described as an opportunistic feeder.
