Dinosaur Information

Dinosaurs were land-dwelling reptiles that lived millions of years ago. More exactly, they lived between 230 to 65 million years ago. Dinosaurs are divided into two groups: Saurischia and Ornithischia. Saurischia (lizard-hipped) includes two suborders: Sauropoda (large, 4-legged herbivores) and the Theropoda (carnivorous bipedal reptiles). Ornithischia (bird-hipped) is an order of beaked, herbivorous dinosaurs. Dinosaurs varied greatly in form and size. Some dinosaurs were armor-plated, while some had horns or crests. Some dinosaurs had thick skin, while some of them even had primitive feathers. Some dinosaurs had 50-60 thick conical teeth, while others had no teeth at all. Approximately 700 species have been named so far.
