Horse Information

The horse (Equus caballus) is a member of the family Equidae. For centuries horses have been on of the most important domesticated animals. Between horses and humans there was always a special relationship. They worked and lived together for thousands of years and they still do today. Horses were first domesticated around 4,000 years ago by Asian nomads. Today, most horses are domestic, but there are still horses left in the wild. Horses are strong animals and help people doing jobs. They are black, brown, cream or gray in color, or have a mixture of these colors.
