Koi Behavior

Koi are cold water fish. But they are more active and grow faster in warm water. They are also intelligent and can learn to come and take food from your hand. Koi have a great sense of smell; they typically eat anything and enjoy variety in their diet. Their food can include bread, peas, spinach, lettuce, fresh shrimp, earthworms, and krill. A koi can eat up to 2% of its body weight a day. Koi may become more aggressive when ready to breed.
