Komodo Dragon Information

The Komodo dragon (Varanus komodoensis) is the largest living reptile. It can be found in Indonesia, on the island of Komodo and a few nearby islands. The Komodo dragon lives in dry open grassland, savannah, and tropical forest. This reptile has large jaws, long, forked, snakelike tongue, long neck, short legs, sharp claws, and a long tail. The Komodo dragon can reach lengths of up to 10 feet, and weighs around 200 lbs. Females are usually smaller. Komodo dragons are endangered species.
