Llama Information

Llamas (Llama glama) are members of the camelid family. They are originating from the Central Plains of North America, about 40 million years ago. About 3 million years ago, llamas migrated to South America. They were first domesticated in Peru 4,000-5,000 years ago. Today llamas are used for packing, fiber production and meat. They are also used as companion animals. Llamas are intelligent and extremely curious animals. They can learn simple tasks after few repetitions.
