Octopus Behavior

The octopus is a solitary animal which spends most of the day hidden in holes or rock crevices. It is a nocturnal animal and hunts at night. Octopuses have great eyesight, well-developed brain and can change color to mirror their surrounding. Using jet propulsion, octopuses can travel many kilometers.

Octopuses are carnivorous creatures. They eat shellfish, crabs, snails, fish, turtles, crustaceans, and other octopuses. In order to escape predators, octopuses can squirt black ink into the water.
