Ostrich Behavior

Ostriches are not very social birds. But they do like to travel in groups of 5 to 50 birds. Ostriches have great vision and can run at up to 45 mph. These birds are omnivores, they eat grasses, roots, seeds, leaves, flowers, insects and lizards. Ostriches can survive without water for a long time, since they get water from the plants they eat. Their main predators include cheetahs, lions, leopards and spotted hyenas.
