Raccoon Behavior

Raccoons are nocturnal and territorial animals. They have excellent night vision and an acute sense of hearing. During the day they sleep in dens in the trees.

Raccoons are solitary animals, they get in contact with other raccoons only during breeding season.

Raccoons are omnivores. They eat almost everything: fruit, berries, grain, eggs, poultry, vegetables, nuts, mollusks, fish, insects, rodents, carrion, pet food and garbage.
