Red Panda Information

The red panda (also knows as the lesser panda) is a herbivorous mammal found in mountains of Nepal and northern Myanmar (Burma), and in central China. It is an arboreal animal and its red coat serves as camouflage in the trees. Red pandas are gentle, curious and generally quiet animals. The red panda was first discovered in 1821, 48 years before the giant pandas were found. Red pandas are considered endangered in China and protected in Nepal.
