Wolf Behavior

Wolves usually live in packs. They have a highly complex social system. The pack leader is called the alpha male and his mate is the alpha female. The alpha wolves are usually the oldest and the most experienced in the pack. Wolves howl, growl, snarl, whine, yip, whimper, and bark to communicate.

Wolves usually hunt young, sick, or weak animals. They hunt in packs and eat small animals, rodents, birds, white-tailed deer, mule deer, moose, elk, caribou, bison, muskoxen, and mountain goat.
